ETTG took a huge step towards becoming a more environmentally friendly company with the installation of an extensive array of solar panels at its Comoro headquarters.

Our company is always looking for ways of improving our environmental performance and solar energy offers a clean, renewable source of power. The headquarters has two large warehouses and extensive cold storage facilities to store its stock, so going solar was a significant undertaking.

It aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals as well as Timor-Leste’s 2011-2030 Development Plan.

We’re also very happy to have given young Timorese technicians the opportunity to develop their skills and experience in this sector. The energy cost savings will enable ETT to reinvest in expanding our business so that we can create more job opportunities within Timor-Leste”.

Whilst some NGO organisations have already made the switch to solar power, ETTG is one of the first private companies to install a system of this size.

The project was completed at the end of 2018.
